You are so right. It is very important to learn the culture and understand that you are in a different country. My point is just that if people don’t bother to learn Spanish they are going to have a truly difficult time getting the finer nuances of Mexican culture.

“Just a tip for reading and improving your reading in Spanish: the little fotovelas that are sold in Latino stores and bodegas. They sometimes have sultry covers but the stories are mild and the comic book format really helps the comprehension…one does not get stuck or lost as much and it is not a children’s book!

I’m glad you checked out my site. The articles about teaching are great, but they are more for beginners, rather than experienced teachers like you. Let me know if you have any ideas for more articles that I should write.
