Retire in Mexico and Get Gifts from Los Reyes January 5
When you live in Mexico, Santa Claus might not come to your house. Instead, the Three Magi (or Los Reyes) will come in the morning of the 6th of January just as they came in the traditional Christmas Story. If you retire in Mexico and your grandchildren come to visit you, you can use this tradition to help them experience the Christmas story. In fact, a neighbor who teaches history was telling me that many of the Mexican Christmas traditions were specially developed in a way that would allow the native people of Mexico to understand and enjoy the doctrine that the missionaries were teaching them.
Here in our house I have just wrapped the gifts for my loved ones and laid them out where they will see them as soon as they get up in the morning. Tomorrow morning the streets of Mexico will fill with children enjoying their gifts - - many of them shiny new bicycles.
