Experienced Expat Finds Mexico: The Trick is Living Here Worth Bringing to Mexico

Hi Julia,

Though I had lived in Mexico for seven years when I was in my 20’s-30’s, that was a long time ago and when I decided to return in retirement yours was one of the books I chose for my small catch-up library.  I thought highly enough of it that it was one of the two that I finally brought with me.  Lots of good info and pretty realistic reading for those who, like me, prefer not to live in one of the walled North American ghettos (or ‘gringolandias’) that many Americans and Canadians here buy into.

Thanks for the good work, especially on the culture front.  People at least need to know what the local customs and expectations are – even if they decide not to comply, they will better understand the impressions they make and the cultural distance locals come to meet them.
